U Mobile Self-Registration (eKYC)

U Mobile Self-Registration is a fast and easy digital onboarding process through self-verification or electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) face recognition, information and document validations via MyUMobile app. The process is contactless and secure as all other registration forms.

Getting Started.

• Get your smartphone camera ready.

• Get connected to WiFi hotspot

• Download the MyUMobile App from Google Play Store, Apple App Store or Huawei App Gallery directly or by scanning the QR code on your U Mobile Starter pack to download the App.


Self-register your SIM card

Launch MyUMobile App and choose “New Line Self-Registration” and follow these steps.

1. Scan SIM barcode on top right corner of your SIM card to validate the SIM.

2. Scan ID Document to verify your identity details.

3. Facial recognition to match your ID.

Identity Document.

• For Malaysian – MyKad or MyTentera

• For Foreigners – International Passport or MyKAS or MyPR

Please ensure that your ID used is valid, original and in good condition.

In addition, we also verify your identity through facial recognition.

If the information captured is incorrect, simply click on the checkbox at Step 2: ID verification. You will obtain further assistance from U Mobile support team to update your information according to your ID.

You may check the updated details within 48 hours via MyUMobile App.

You may check your personal details via MyUMobile App.

After completing the self-registration process, your request will be processed for registration and activation of your new U Mobile SIM pack.

You may register up to a maximum of 5 prepaid lines in accordance with Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC)’s Prepaid Registration Guideline.

You will not be able to complete the registration process if you do not provide the requested documents.

Yes . However, you are required to provide your current local address during your Self-Registration process, i.e. hotel name and address.

Yes. You must use a smart phone to perform the registration.
