Friend Finder allows you to check on the whereabouts of your friends and family members (with their consent) anytime and anywhere.

There are two ways to sign up for this service, via SMS or via the mobile application.

1. Via SMS: Send FIND <space><Your Friend’s Mobile Number> to 22001
2. Via mobile app: Download the App. Once downloaded, you will be required to key in your mobile number for verification purpose. Upon successful verification, you will be directed to the Friend Finder main page.

No, you only need to sign up via SMS OR the mobile app to enable the service. You can use both SMS and mobile app at the same time or interchangeably after you activate the service.

Each successful search will be charged RM0.30.

1. By SMS: Key in FIND <space><Your Friend’s Mobile Number> to 22001
2. By mobile app: Select from the list of contacts and click on the search button. You would need to allow the App to access your phone’s address book.

You may search for your contacts from U Mobile, Maxis and Digi who have given you their consent to share their location with you.

No, only the Friend Finder user (the seeker) will need to enable the App.

You have the option to either accept or reject the request. If you accept the request, your friend will be able to obtain your location update as and when required.

It is just a different method of accessing the Friend Finder service.

No, there will be no impact. Users can continue to use the App to do a search. Charges will be based on every successful search.
