Prepaid Data Verification Exercise

Prepaid users would need to check with their service providers to ensure that their details are registered accurately. Those users who are affected, are advised to re-register their details and give full cooperation by contacting their respective Service Providers for specific enquiries on the data verification exercise.

You would require to update your Name, ID and Address. Your original identity document (i.e. MyKAD, Passport etc.) is required for the registration updates.

This exercise is carried out in collaboration with MCMC (refer to https://www.mcmc.gov.my/media/press-releases/industry-task-force-for-data-verification-formed ).
The main objective is aimed at curbing misuse of prepaid mobile services for criminal activities and the protection of other consumers from any unlawful activities. Therefore, it is critical to ensure all prepaid users are accurately registered with the respective service providers.

Service Providers will suspend and terminate the prepaid services immediately if users’ details were found to be inaccurate or falsely registered and were unable to be rectified within the stipulated time given. Upon termination, the remaining balance for the prepaid services will be forfeited and Service Providers are under no obligation to re-issue the same number to the users during any new registration in the future.

This will be an on-going and periodical exercise by MCMC.
As for this first audit, affected users are advised to ensure all information is updated before 30 November 2018. For those not updating, the line will be terminated on 1 December 2018 onwards.

Those affected users will be contacted by the respective service providers via several medium i.e Short Messaging Services.

Affected users are advised to promptly update their information by walking in to the nearest respective service providers’ designated outlets.
